67003 on Thunderbird duties is stabled at Kings Cross awaiting a failure on the southern end of the East Coast Main Line, 12th February 2008. 67003 is one of thirty General Motors class 67 locomotives built in Valencia, Spain in 2000. Initial duties were predominantly mail trains, however with the loss to rail of most of this traffic there use was restricted to charter, sleeper and thunderbird duties (with some in store). With the recent increase in locomotive hauled service trains the class is finding significantly more work in recent times although members are still placed in store from time to time.
